What is the Nan Academy?

The Academy was founded in 2003 by curry lovers Barry Grieve and Stewart McConnell in order to provide a comprehensive guide to Scotland’s Indian takeaways and restaurants.  As regular curry eaters the founders were often disappointed by the unleavened bread that accompanied their favourite dishes.  What good is a great Chicken Dhansak if the garlic nan used to soak up the sauce isn’t up to scratch?

We are just regular curry lovers doing our best to further our message that “Nan matters” through our independent site.

Of course a good nan is not the be all and end all, so we’ll rate the establishments on the dishes that they offer as well.

What makes us qualified to offer our opinions?  Well that’s just it, it’s our opinion.  No one’s going to force you to accept our recommendations and we are always pleased to hear what our readers think.

If you’ve got something to say about our reviews or would like to suggest a restaurant or takeaway for us to try, then

 please get in touch.
